Mead? Maybe Tonight.

Today’s post was going to be a science post. An interview with my friend Jen, who works as in a medical lab, as she tells me it’s National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. Also, her job is interesting.

I was probably also going to mention Beer1Up, which is my current focus and obsession.

But, frankly, given that our friend Jason passed away last night (not unexpected), instead I’d just like to ask that everyone head on over to this post from about a month ago and read about what a great guy Jason was and how fabulous his wife, Heather, is.

Tomorrow we can talk about beer and blood banks. Thank you all.

  1. Hey. I know I haven’t known you very long, but I just want to pass along my condolences. He sounds like he was an amazing person.

  2. There’s not much I can say about how I feel right now without also feeling like I’m co-opting the grief of people who knew Jason better and for more time. I guess I have only this: Never before have I been so completely been won over by someone I was predisposed to disregard/dislike. Today and tomorrow and beyond, there is one more person in the world who is missing the intensity of his smile, the charm of his laughter and wit entirely because of knowing you. It feels like such a shabby offering in the face of your loss, but I also know that it is through memory alone that we keep our loved ones with us. <3

  3. I’m sorry I never got a chance to meet someone who obviously meant such a great deal to people I care so much about. Thank you for sharing your stories and allowing me to know just a little about what a great guy he was. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends, and as many hugs as you’re willing to take.
